Live Trapping Strays

In between dragon boat practice and slo-pitch games, we’ve busy catching 7 stray cats that have been hanging around our property. Hubby and I will then take them to the (OSPCA) Marion Vernon center to get fixed so they don’t make more stray babies.

Here’s the thing about catching feral cats; they are smart kitties! We were having a heck of a time to get them in the live traps. Eventually, bits of hot dog seemed to work best and we are catching two at a time.

However, when baiting live-traps, you never know who might show up! This guy made quite a racket when he realized he was stuck.

This poor guy got stuck in our live trap while we were trying to capture stray cats hanging around our property.

Unfortunately, we have caught a new mom and had her fixed, so we’ve had to catch her kitten and bring him into the house to feed now that mom is no longer lactating. This little guy is about 3/4 weeks old and is teething. Now, it’s been a long time since I’ve had a kitten, but getting up every night to feed the little guy is a giant pain in the butt!

He’s teething…which means he chews on everything!

I don’t know how new mothers handle it; but they should come get a massage from me. I understand (a little) what they are going through
